This weekend recap is a little bit late since I’ve been on vacation this whole week (and until July 21)! I’ve tried to stay away from my computer as much as possible, but today (Wednesday) is an off-day and I’m taking it in solitude before the wedding weekend festivities begin tomorrow. My version of solitude is reflecting on my to do list from my balcony at Taharaa Mountain Lodge!
On Saturday, I flew out to Denver, CO and went right into the process of setting up for my little sister’s bachelorette party in downtown Denver.
Stephanie, my other sister, picked me up from the airport, we checked in to the Magnolia Hotel on 17th Street, then headed straight to the nearest Party City & Target for all the fixings! A few hours later, everything was set and ready to receive Liz (the bachelorette) and her friends. We started off with fun and silly party games, lots of great music, and laughter. Then around 9:45pm, “Charlie” came over and he didn’t leave until 11pm! He was the most fun stripper EVER. He even stayed a little bit after the “main event” to hang and chat. LOL. He was fantastic, but I’ll say that I am VERY thankful I didn’t get a stripper at my bachelorette party. I would have been extremely uncomfortable as the bachelorette – just not my style!
The groom was kind enough to loan his limo to us around 11pm to ride around town when they weren’t using it. We took a joy ride then were dropped off at Coyote Ugly for a bit. It was about 30 minutes later that I opted to head home since I was still sick and a bit tired from waking up at 5:30am to travel. Plus, I’m almost 30 and that means I get to go in first. Ha!
It goes without saying that 95% of the images I took on Saturday are severely inappropriate (can you say bananahammock?) and could probably get my blog reclassified, so I’ll stick with the PG images.
After a decent night’s sleep on Saturday, we packed everything up in the room, checked out, then Steph & I headed to Breckenridge to see my friend Renee! Renee lives in Peoria, IL which is about 2.5 hours away back home. She was in Breck for a wedding and had no set plans on the 14th, so it was an easy decision to head into the mountains to see her. I love a good day in Breck especially with a great friend!
We had a great time walking around town. We went up the mountain on the gondola, hit the O2 Lounge, and ate lunch at the Crown Cafe. It was a great day all around and so wonderful to see Renee, even though it was many miles away from home!
We returned to Liz’s apartment on Sunday evening to relax and get ready for MORE fun in the coming days. Stay tuned for some vacation recaps in the coming weeks!
