You like me…you *really* like me!

Don’t mind if I borrow the words of the great Sally Field to announce my first Liebster Award!

Your first question might be, “what’s a Liebster Award?” Don’t worry, I had the same thought upon receiving my nomination.

The Liebster Award goes to up and coming bloggers with less than 200 followers. That’s me! It’s a great way to network and expand your readership while doing the same for others.

To accept the award, the rules are:

1. Thank and link back to the blogger who presented you with the award.

2. List 11 random facts about yourself.

3. Answer the 11 questions you were asked.

4. Write 11 questions for your nominees.

5. Present/nominate a Liebster blog award to 3-5 other bloggers with less than 200 followers.

First and foremost, I would love to thank someone I now call a friend: Elizabeth of Army Ever After. She lives the good life with her soldier hubby in Hawaii! I was excited to receive her as my match in the Cara Box Exchange last month. Hop over to her blog to see the contents of the Cara Box I sent her. You can also find her in my sidebar as my first sponsor!

11 random facts about me was tougher than expected…

1. I’ve only worked for one corporate company since graduating college (6 years). Almost everyone I know has already switched employers at least once.

2. When I was in middle school, I spent much of my summer making clay beads and hemp jewelry to sell to a local business.

3. On the same entrepreneurial token, I also sold Ty Beanie Babies. I sold so many for such high values that I was able to afford my first computer.

4. My first AOL screen name was “purrfectangel16.” I am allergic to cats and am definitely not an angel…but I was, in fact, 16.

5. I live with my parents, my husband, dog, and soon to be a second dog. It’s not at all as bad as one might think. I’m waiting to cross the threshold of feeling like I never want to leave. My mom will regret saying we can stay as long as we want if that moment hits!

6. I graduated from UW-Madison with the Badger as my mascot. Then I adopted a miniature dachshund, who’s most desired prey is the Badger. Good thing Kate & I get along! Soon it’ll be two-against-one though. We shall see…

7. I’ve only ever held a permanent address in Illinois. The four years in Madison, Wisconsin were my only years outside of IL. I’m either about to get a rude awakening to my desire to jump around, or it’ll be the best thing ever, because we have a LOT of moving plans in the next few decades with Husband’s job and an adventure that will come in 2014.

8. I pride myself on never being surprised (I’m a pretty good spy) so when my then fiance popped the question, I was very impressed that I had no clue. I even knew he had the ring!

9. I love temperatures between 50-70 degrees Fahrenheit and would gladly move to Alaska in the summer. Case in point, the first week of our honeymoon was spent in Alaska.

10. I can give myself a flawless french manicure.

11. Before I laid eyes on the cuteness of miniature dachshunds, especially the English cream ones (aka miniature golden retriever), I required my Husband to marry me with the caveat that we may never get a dog. I am SO glad that changed!

In answer to Elizabeth’s questions:

1. What celebrity would you choose to play you in a movie of your life? She’s taller than me, and certainly more beautiful, but I’ll go with Malin Akerman.

2. What do you like best about blogging? Writing out all of my thoughts so they don’t stick around too long to cloud my focus! Plus, it’s like I’m scrapbooking my photos regularly so I won’t feel behind when I do so at the end of the year / when I finally get around to it!

3. Soda or pop? Pop

4. What’s your favorite hobby? Learning new ways to craft. I simply have too many hobbies to pick one, so I’ll say learning about all my hobbies is my favorite hobby. Too confusing?!

5. What’s your favorite color? Purple – all shades!

6. Your 3 most important possessions. Wedding album, photos from the 80s & 90s, and my engagement & wedding rings.

7. What was the last book you read? The Yoga Body Diet

8. Who do you admire? Gosh, that’s tough. I don’t know that I admire anyone in particular since we all walk such crazy different lives, but my parents are a shoo-in for this honor. I admire the tough decisions they’ve had to make and the wonderful lives they’ve led!

9. PC or Mac? PC

10. If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Pause time (while I work on my to do list)!

11. What would be your dream travel destination? Bora Bora with a glass floor over water and private diving deck

It’s my turn to pass the torch! I nominate (*based solely on BlogLovin’ followers < 200):

1. Ashley @ Rainstorms & Love Notes {a huge football fan who’s post “A Girl’s Guide to Enjoying the NFL Season” will come in handy to me this fall}

2. Lindsey @ Life on the Countryside {a spunky fellow 80s born gal and mama to a fur baby too}

3. Alyssa @ Two-Thirds Scarlett {wife of a tattooed former Marine, just like me, as discovered a few weeks ago during our Boys Behind the Blog features}

And, finally, nominees, please answer the following 11 questions in your acceptance of your Liebster Award!

1. What was your first AOL screen name?

2. How many, if any, older/younger brothers & sisters do you have?

3. If you could spend a 24-hour day doing one thing without worry of time, cost, sleep, or travel requirements, what would you do?

4. Dogs or cats?

5. Kindle or real books?

6. What’s your favorite time of year and why?

7. Wine or beer?

8. Favorite school or life subject and why?

9. How many states have you traveled to in your lifetime (just driving through doesn’t count – have to sleep there at least one night)?

10. If you’re eating pancakes, what’s the best combination of toppings?

11. When’s your birthday and how old will you be turning?

Happy networking!

productivity for working moms

welcome!

I'm Jessica!

I used to glorify "busy." If I wasn't busy, I wasn't doing enough. But when I became a mama, my entire outlook shifted.

The only way out involved a complete overhaul of my time, money & communication systems.

Today, I'm doing LESS and achieving more.

It's a productivity dream!

I'm still learning (and always will be!), but my purpose here is to help YOU achieve this level of space in your life too.
