Sunday Social ~ a little bit about moi

I thought it would be fun to participate this week in the Sunday Social link-up by A Complete Waste of Makeup.

I like that the questions this week are all about growing up and being a kid. With Back to School in full swing, Hubby and I miss out on the excitement since we haven’t started our family yet. It’s always fun to re-live childhood, even with a few random questions on a Sunday while at the lake!

Jessica ~ Stephanie ~ Liz

What do you miss most about being a kid?

Kick-the-can in the neighborhood, staying out until dark, and more or less simply living a carefree life. We all want that, all the time, right?

Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it?

The only nickname I can remember is “Rhino” which tied to my maiden name. I got the name during high school tennis season.

What was your favorite thing to do at recess?

Chase boys. No, really, my friends and I would legit chase the boys around the field, probably starting in 1st grade.

I may or may not accurately remember some type of “love potion” that accompanied us on these chases.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

A business woman. Always!

Did you participate in any school activities?

Let’s see…middle school track for a bit, high school track for two years, high school tennis for a year, and a variety of clubs such as Yearbook Club (always loved photos!) and others that were clearly not memorable enough after 10 years since graduating.

I mostly tried to work in my after-school time. I held a paycheck job the moment I was able at around age 14 – hellooooo Ashton Kutcher! Opportunities certainly do look a lot like work, my friend.

What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about?

Oh boy. There are a lot of silly stories, but I’ll go with one of my personal favorites!

Each Sunday my parents would give me a quarter for my “offering to God” at Sunday School. Every Sunday I would place my quarter in the basket and the same old man would pick the basket up.

One Sunday I was with my parents in the main church service and I spotted the old man. At four years old, I had nothing to say besides “mommy, there’s God!”

There you have it! My first Sunday Social. Thanks for stopping by to hear a little about my childhood!

productivity for working moms

welcome!

I'm Jessica!

I used to glorify "busy." If I wasn't busy, I wasn't doing enough. But when I became a mama, my entire outlook shifted.

The only way out involved a complete overhaul of my time, money & communication systems.

Today, I'm doing LESS and achieving more.

It's a productivity dream!

I'm still learning (and always will be!), but my purpose here is to help YOU achieve this level of space in your life too.
