Wedding Weekend ~ The Big Day {July 20, 2013}

Exactly two weeks ago, my little sister walked down the aisle to marry her fiance! At 4:30pm on the dot, precisely the start time of the ceremony, the mountain clouds rolled through with a quick downpour. Not five minutes later we were on our way towards the altar. Rain = good luck!

As you can imagine, I did not snap photos most of the day and everything was taken on cell phones and point & shoot. Liz & Adam hired an AWESOME photographer for capturing the beauty of the day, and as a photographer myself, I wanted to keep out of his way as much as possible. I captured a few shots throughout the day that will at least tell the story. When the photographer has the images ready, I can’t wait to share! In the meantime, here’s how the day went…

The gals got ready in the bridal suite.

Meanwhile, the boys shot guns in the forest.

See the pink camera case attached to hubby’s belt below? He received instructions to make sure photos were taken during their excursion. He’s married to a blogger AND photographer, after all!

The bridal party photos took place at Lily Lake, and the best photo of my hubby EVER was captured by the groom. Together we snapped a good photo too, and hubby helped out with dress duty!

Following the ceremony (see yesterday’s Rehearsal post for photos of how it looked), the Reception began at Taharaa. Delicious food, lots of dancing, bouquet catching, and cigar smoking occurred. A great time was had by all in celebration of Liz & Adam’s marriage!

That’s Steph, the middle sister, ballet dancing towards the bouquet. She didn’t catch it, but she sure as hell looked pretty {crazy} trying! The girl who Steph’s about to knock over with her echappé (yes, I Googled what this move most resembled) is Alecia, another bridesmaid. Alecia successfully ripped the seam of her dress attempting to catch the bouquet. These gals were ruthless!

The next morning we said goodbye in an awkwardly lit balcony under blaring sun. Liz & Adam headed deeper into the mountains for their honeymoon and the rest of us went back to planes, trains, & automobiles to journey home after a FANTASTIC time in Colorado.

Congratulations, Liz & Adam! Thanks for a wonderful week in CO. We love you. xo
