The 2014 Directive: a Modern New Year’s Resolution

You won’t find any New Year’s Resolution ideas here! Why? Because I don’t have one.

Instead, I’m establishing The 2014 Directive. Keep reading to see how you can participate too!

That’s right – I’m ditching the old “resolution” mentality and instead going full force into 2014 with something a bit more concrete. Something I’ll actually stick to…something less “negotiable.”

The 2014 Directive is issued on a monthly basis with 12 different monthly goals. Gone are the January 1st “resolutions” forgotten by February 1st and welcome to monthly accountability all year long. January’s directive is still valid in September unless it’s already been attained in full (see the only “rule” below).

On the last Wednesday of each month in 2014, I’ll post a reveal of the next month’s Directive as well as a progress report of the current month’s Directive. I’ll keep a running summary of progress reports in each monthly post too!

Interested in participating in The 2014 Directive?

I’m making The 2014 Directive a link-up! There are no special prompts and you can jump in at any time. Simply establish your next month’s directive, include a progress report of the current month’s directive, and write it up on your blog! The only “rule” is that you set a S.M.A.R.T. (specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound) directive each month. The time-bound aspect can be anything you wish, meaning you don’t have to attain your goal in the month you set if it’ll take longer than a month (that’s why we’ll have running progress reports).

Our first post will be on Wednesday, January 1st to establish January’s directive. All future month’s posts will go live on the last Wednesday of the month. Link up whenever you wish after this date!

I’ve included a 24-page fun and free printable to keep you organized with The 2014 Directive. I’m so excited to share this journey with you so print it off and keep it in your binder or beside your desk all year long. Keep track of each month’s directive, progress, and ideas for future months. It also includes the exact dates of each month’s link-up post so you’ll never forget!

Looking for more accountability throughout the month and/or you don’t have a blog?

Follow Kate & Trudy on Instagram and share your photos with the tag #the2014directive. We can cheer you on via Instagram!

Most of all, ENJOY … and best wishes for an absolutely wonderful and successful 2014!

NOTE: The inspiration for The 2014 Directive came from my success in setting my Weekly Wishes with The Nectar Collective. I wholeheartedly recommend you participate in BOTH projects as breaking a monthly directive into smaller weekly parts OR setting additional weekly wishes altogether can have such a profound effect. You’ll definitely see me continue to participate in Weekly Wishes.

Happy almost-2014!

productivity for working moms

welcome!

I'm Jessica!

I used to glorify "busy." If I wasn't busy, I wasn't doing enough. But when I became a mama, my entire outlook shifted.

The only way out involved a complete overhaul of my time, money & communication systems.

Today, I'm doing LESS and achieving more.

It's a productivity dream!

I'm still learning (and always will be!), but my purpose here is to help YOU achieve this level of space in your life too.
