25 Christmas Questions

Since I’ve barely jumped into the Christmas spirit here, I figured it’s high time I add some Christmas-themed goodness for you to read! I saw a couple blogs on my BlogLovin’ feed write up answers to the following 25 Christmas questions.

Merry Christmas y’all!

25 Questions

Eggnog or hot chocolate?
Definitely hot chocolate. I’ve never really jumped onto the eggnog bandwagon but I know the Hubs is obsessed. I believe we may even be enjoying some eggnog tonight during game night with our friends, Brandon & Alexandra!

Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
When I was a kid, Santa definitely wrapped the presents! He even made cute little gift tags but his handwriting needed some work – clearly he was rushing around to snag those cookies & milk.

When we have kids, I kind of like the idea of having the toys unwrapped (lazy Santa’s way – but there’s nothing like jumping head first into the surprise)!

Colored lights on tree/house or white?
White for sure. Though, I do like the white/blue lights too.

Do you hang mistletoe?
Nope. It would be more meaningful if it were real mistletoe vs. the weird plastic kind that I’ve only ever seen.

When do you hang your decorations up?
I absolutely wait until at least the day after Thanksgiving. Our decorations went up on Friday, 11/29 this year.

What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
My grandmother has always made a delicious macaroni casserole. That’s my fav!

Favorite holiday memory as a child?
Disney World 1992. Pocahontas PJs and American Girl dolls! Score!

What is on your Christmas wish list?
I usually don’t have a list but this year I did a good job planning to NOT spend money on stuff I should have on my list. I also did lots of my own gift purchasing since my stuff was so specific. Ha! My list is: Silhouette Cameo bundle, Nikon S9500 point & shoot, Project Life (rain edition with pink binder), and an iPad keyboard & stylus. Clearly, it’s a photography/crafty/digital Christmas!

Do you open a gifts on Christmas Eve?
In the past, we’ve opened sibling gifts on Christmas Eve, but one of my sisters won’t be here then. We’ll probably wait until Christmas morning for everything.

How do you decorate your Christmas tree?
Right now it’s my mom & dad’s tree, so it’s white lights, ribbon & ornaments from 30+ years.

Snow? Love it or dread it?
LOVE IT.

Real tree or fake tree?
We have a fake tree, but as soon as our lives are rooted the first thing I want is a real tree for our first “real” Christmas.

Do you remember your favorite gift?
It’s definitely NOT the giant canvas Nate got me in 2009 – lol!

What’s the most important thing about Christmas for you?
Family time and reflecting on the year past and the one coming up. Obviously, celebrating Jesus as well, but I have some work to do in the religion department!

What is your favorite holiday dessert?
Cookies & peppermint ice cream.

What is your favorite tradition?
Hubby and I have yet to create our own…but we’re having a Christmas movie marathon on Christmas day, so maybe that’ll become a great tradition?! I’d like to do something with ornaments too since we have to build our own collection.

What tops your tree?
An angel!

Do you prefer giving or receiving?
Giving – I’ve found so many fun gifts for everyone this year. While I LOVE receiving (come on now, people), it’s a lot more fun to shop for others and have them (hopefully) love the thought you put into their gift.

What is your favorite Christmas song?
O Holy Night

Candy canes, yuck or yum?
Lots of YUM

Favorite Christmas movie?
That’s a tough one – there are so many!! I’ll have to say Will Ferrell’s Elf as my favorite modern movie and How the Grinch Stole Christmas as my favorite classic.

What do you leave for Santa?
Used to be milk & cookies. Hubby is gunnin’ for a beer & cigar this year.

Do you have a Christmas morning tradition?
Turn on Christmas music, grab a cup of coffee, and make breakfast. We usually don’t open gifts until 11am or so. This year we’re also starting off with a movie!

Do you prefer to shop on-line or at the mall?
Online – I’m such a homebody.

Christmas letter or Christmas card?
Card…which I have yet to even take a photo for this year…looks like a New Year’s card it is!

productivity for working moms

welcome!

I'm Jessica!

I used to glorify "busy." If I wasn't busy, I wasn't doing enough. But when I became a mama, my entire outlook shifted.

The only way out involved a complete overhaul of my time, money & communication systems.

Today, I'm doing LESS and achieving more.

It's a productivity dream!

I'm still learning (and always will be!), but my purpose here is to help YOU achieve this level of space in your life too.
