This year is our first year of the Christmas Movie Marathon, but I sense the establishment of a fierce tradition! Hopefully it runs as smoothly and fun as planned because I’m so excited to catch up on Christmas movies I haven’t seen in years, enjoy some holiday treats, and finally have time to get into the Christmas spirit before the year resets.
I’m sharing our “official” plans here and everything starts later today (Christmas Eve) and goes through tomorrow (Christmas Day). We decided on set movie times so each family member could decide which movie they absolutely want to see. That way there’s no bickering on what to watch – haha. I’ll obviously be watching from start to finish!
Tuesday, December 24th
> After Church: How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Wednesday, December 25th
> 8am: The Santa Clause // Breakfast (see recipe below!)
> 9:45am: Elf
> 11:30am: Christmas Music & Gifts
> 1pm: The Polar Express
> 5pm: Dinner & Dessert
> 6:30pm: A Christmas Story
> 8:30pm: Love Actually
We had way too many movies on the original list to choose from so I know next year we’ll be able to mix it up a bit. Some of the movies that didn’t make the cut for 2013 (we couldn’t find on DVR in time, we only have VHS, or our DVDs are in storage) include:
> Jingle All the Way
> The Santa Clause 2
> The Santa Clause 3
> It’s a Wonderful Life
> White Christmas
> Home Alone
> Babes in Toyland
> Miracle on 34th Street
> A Charlie Brown Christmas
For breakfast in the morning, I’ve decided to go with a delicious breakfast casserole from The Pioneer Woman. I can’t vouch for the end results (even though I trust Ree 110%), but here’s the recipe I’ll be using!
How are you spending Christmas with your family and/or friends this year? Merry Christmas!
