Weekly Wishes {January 27, 2014}

Last week was a short week but that didn’t stop me from getting my work done! I’ve been very productive lately and I’m loving the extra time left in my days as a result. Must be all this simplifying!

The highlight of our weekend was playing in the fresh snow on Sunday. The dogs were in heaven with snow up to their eyeballs! Can you see all the back and forth tracks the girls made?! They were going NUTS!

More (super adorable) photos have been posted to my Instagram and I’ll have a special new feature tomorrow with them too, so check back!

Last Week’s Wishes

Discuss and set February’s budget with Husband.

We completed this yesterday prior to our last January grocery shopping trip. We’re pretty amazed at the savings we’ve seen just by opening up this line of communication and pre-planning for activities, meals, etc. We’ve set a budget for February that allows us to hopefully move money into savings again at the end of the month!

Finish the border on my Once Upon a Time sampler.

This border is absolutely fantastic, but it’s taking a long time to complete. It’ll be worth it to have the whole border done up front, but I still have about 12 inches left to finish up (out of the total 60 inches in the 11×17 frame). I stitched about 25 inches throughout the week, so I didn’t slack off! I should be able to finish by Friday, 1/31. Not too bad for 3 weeks of work! I can’t wait to share pictures.

This Week’s Wishes

Finish strong on the “No Spend” Month!

Friday is the LAST DAY of January. I can’t even believe it. How did the month go so fast?! We basically cooped up all month so as to avoid extra spending, meaning the month was very repetitive ~ TV, couch, hang-out, gym (for Hubby), etc. We ate the same breakfast everyday (except for cinnamon roll Sundays) and a rotation of the same lunches each day.  What should have been the slowest month ever went miraculously fast. I’m so thankful! Guess we really are home-bodies at heart. Ha!

This week, I just want to focus on finishing strong. I can’t wait to pull the final numbers on Friday night to recap on my budget planner!

I have some fun posts planned to help guide anyone who desires to set some budgeting goals and “no spend” months too, so stay tuned! This month was definitely the first of many future “no spend” months – it was liberating!

In just a few days we’ll be shifting towards the February Directive. Are you planning to link up on Wednesday??

Enjoy the weekend by putting away all work by Friday night.

We’ll be driving to Holland, Michigan for the day on Saturday to attend a family wedding. As much as we love to stay entire weekends, Husband is preparing for something very important and I may have to travel to Seattle the following week (twist my arm). The wedding is early in the day and dry, so we feel good about driving there and back in one day! It’ll be great to see so many family members…many of whom we didn’t get to see during our holiday trip to Michigan.

As for Sunday, it’s Super Bowl!! I don’t typically get too crazy about football, and for that reason I feel I need to put in my 2013 season dues by paying attention to and enjoying this year’s Super Bowl. I think we’ll grab some beer and make some delicious snacks to go with it or head to a local restaurant bar/golf club to watch with my parents. It should be a good time!

Have a great week, friends! xo

productivity for working moms

welcome!

I'm Jessica!

I used to glorify "busy." If I wasn't busy, I wasn't doing enough. But when I became a mama, my entire outlook shifted.

The only way out involved a complete overhaul of my time, money & communication systems.

Today, I'm doing LESS and achieving more.

It's a productivity dream!

I'm still learning (and always will be!), but my purpose here is to help YOU achieve this level of space in your life too.
