50 Ideas for Goal Setting // The 2014 Directive

<< April’s Directive goes live on Wednesday, March 26th. Are you joining us?! >>

April is right around the corner and 2014 is flying by just as fast as it arrived. One of my favorite things about 2014 so far is all of the goals I’ve accomplished. I’ve set weekly goals with The Nectar Collective’s Weekly Wishes and monthly goals with my own program and link-up, The 2014 Directive. I know I’m not alone in this, as some great friends have been setting and achieving their goals as well this year. We’re on a roll for 2014!

In order to stay on a roll for 2014, I wanted to address two main questions that have come up on The 2014 Directive.

First, “how do I choose just one goal for the month?”

My answer to this is that you don’t have to choose just one goal. You can choose a “theme” instead and create sub-goals under that theme. Remember there’s only one rule to the monthly Directive goal – it must be S.M.A.R.T. If you set too many goals for a single month, they may not be attainable. It’s really that simple!

My 2014 theme is “simplify” so each of my monthly goals seek to simplify some area of my life. My January Directive theme was “budgeting” and I did a no spend month and set a budget, which simplified my financial life. See how that works?

Second, “how in the world am I supposed to even decide on a goal?”

This is an easy answer when you consult the S.M.A.R.T. methodology of goal setting. Simply identify what’s relevant. Do you have meal planning down but need some help in the budgeting arena? Setting a meal plan goal wouldn’t be relevant for you in this case…but establishing a budget would be a huge win!

In answer to both of these questions, I’ve compiled a list of 50 ideas (5 in each “theme”) to start your gears working towards a relevant and attainable goal for April and beyond. The 2014 Directive blog link-up goes live on Wednesday, March 26, but it stays open all month long and you can jump in whenever is most convenient for you. As soon as you link up, join the Google+ Community if you aren’t already a member!

So, what will you accomplish?!

The only way out involved a complete overhaul of my time, money & communication systems.

It's a productivity dream!
