I’m doing something a little different this week as I completely failed to take enough photos to write a meaningful post covering Mama ~ Wife ~ Life moments of the past week. Today, I’m throwing it back to this time last year – February/March 2013.
Yesterday, I posted about my failed second attempt at a Project 365 and it was about this time I threw in the towel. As I was going through my photos from this time, I realized how much I focused on capturing the simple moments. In particular, moments of Kate and her daddy. Just look at these two! Like two peas in a pod and completely in love.
When I saw these photos again, it brought me back to how much I loved living in our little short term apartment spending time together as a family of three. It was our first experience out in the suburbs and we watched little Kate go from being fearful of the outdoors (we lived right by the train tracks downtown) to needing to be outside to chase geese.
Winter was of no concern to us because we had nowhere to be. Give us a movie and a cozy blanket and we were good to go. I started officially working from home this time last year and we were just beginning to understand just how long our wait for Husband’s job might be. It was a bittersweet time. We were comfortable, yet anxious for a new adventure. We were optimistic, yet cautiously so.
It seems like these photos were taken a lifetime ago. It’s been almost one year since we moved in with my parents and while I’ll be forever grateful, we’re ready to move on to the adventure phase. We have more gratitude to send my parents’ way as they’re allowing us to temporarily live up to their lake house a few weeks each month. We’re heading up there on Sunday for two weeks to start. We have about 3 months before Husband starts his job (as long as everything goes well from here on out), so we’re savoring our time as a family of four before our lives take off at warp speed!
I’m really excited for a mini adventure at the lake before the big adventure commences. I’m also incredibly thankful for the ability to even do this with a full time job. I truly have nothing to complain about these days with the way things are progressing!
The “It’s the Little Things” link-up goes live every Wednesday. Since the last Wednesday of the month also coincides with The 2014 Directive, you’ll see my post a little earlier on Tuesdays once a month!
Thanks for stopping by…now go enjoy the “little things” of your day and share on Instagram with #littlethingslinkup!
