We had so much fun this weekend! I don’t think we’ve tried to pack so much into one two-day period since last summer, but it was a nice, refreshing weekend to say the least.
We drove back to Illinois on Saturday morning and I went straight to my friend, Amanda’s, baby shower. She’s having a little boy due May 30th and I bought him the cutest little onesie from Wild Hearts Apparel on Etsy. It’s so teensy tiny I can’t even stand it!
On Saturday night we went out for an excellent dinner at Seasons 52 with friends we met on our trip to Palm Island in July 2012. They’re so sweet and we made a pact to go back to Palm Island together someday soon. We determined we’re the kind of people who make friends on vacations and thanks to Facebook, actually keep in touch with them. We also met a couple during a Seattle wine tasting in March 2011 and I photographed their maternity session during a trip to Dallas in December 2012! LOL.
Yesterday (Sunday) was my dad’s birthday and we celebrated with dinner at Maggiano’s and seeing Rent at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, IL. It was amazing!! I absolutely love Rent and so did everyone else. The cast was fantastic and put on such a great show.
We drove back to Wisconsin after the show (it’s not far) and crashed right away. Such a busy…but super fun weekend!
Last Week’s Wishes
Be more social.
Totally accomplished this. I was out and about all weekend and also had a work meeting on Thursday afternoon that got me to Rockford, IL to socialize with a handful of new contacts. All in all, a great week for socializing!
This Week’s Wishes
Take a mini spring break.
A couple weeks ago I decided I needed a little spring break. I don’t expect a week off right now as my new project kicks off, but I needed to take a long weekend before Memorial Day! I landed on some time off from Friday, March 28 through my birthday, Monday, March 31. I’m really excited for a chance to put my work computers away and breath a little spring air.
During this mini spring break, I want to:
> spend at least one relaxing day out and about. I don’t care what we do, but it shouldn’t involve checking off a task on our list! I kind of want to take the dogs and drive up to the open dog park for once…as long as it’s relatively warm out. We pass it so often but haven’t ever gone!
> sort through all our media (books, movies, cds) to figure out what we want to sell in our upcoming May garage sale.
> get started on my April Directive (check back Wednesday for details!)
> accomplish my next weekly wish…
Set April’s budget + payoff the Toyota!
More to come on the topic of paying off our car 18 months early, but this week we need to hunker down and move into April with a clear and realistic budget. The success of the 12-month goal we just set for ourselves depends on it!
Have a great week!
