It’s finally hitting me. I’ve been far too busy to think about it lately but with 4 weeks to go, I can’t help but become emotional about leaving Chicago after nearly 30 years.
I was born here back in 1985.
I grew up here, spending K thru 12 in a single school district.
I briefly left for college, but didn’t stray far (Madison, WI) and often returned, spending each summer in Chicago.
As soon as college ended, I was back here in a flash, living life downtown and as happy as can be.
I met my husband here.
I married my husband here (for the second time).
We brought home our two little fur babies here.
…and now we leave here for something brand new. A whole new life…one that makes us feel we’re flying around on a magic carpet!
Our next chapter begins on Monday, October 27th when we roll into our new place. While I’m emotional to leave Chicago behind, I know Seattle is our home now. It’s exactly where we’re supposed to be!
